Well, what can I say about us?
It all started with me and JF Launier getting together after a fun car event and talking about what makes a weekend good and what makes a weekend suck.

After several beverages we decided that we should have a show of our own. We then set out to find some of the best car people we could find who feel the way we do and have a great big party for everyone else that feels the same. It was then decided that it would have lots of what we liked and as little as possible of what we didn’t like. Here is the list.

Things we like:

• We like to drive old cars.
• We like good people.
• We like stuff for our families to do.
• We like to have fun with old cars.
• We like a laid back atmosphere.

Things we don’t like:

• We don’t like to park our cars on hot asphalt for the weekend.
• We don’t like to sit in a lawn chair all day.
• We don’t like to have whiney kids or bored spouses.
• We don’t like attitudes.
• We don’t like sitting around looking for something to do.
• We don’t like driving home at the end of the weekend saying that we didn’t have fun, got ripped off, or felt like we didn’t belong.

The Desert Beach Cruise is an event where no matter if you drive a jalopy or a show car you are welcome. If you like customs, hotrods, lowriders, trucks or anything in between there is a place for you here. You may be a little disappointed if you are a trophy hunter or a 100 point restorer, as we drive our cars and our awards are a little unconventional (No Trophies).

The Cactus Jalopies Car Club was formed as a not for profit society and will continue on for the sole purpose of putting on a great event for car people by car people.

The club consists of some of the most dedicated hobbyists around who go to car events all over North America. We also have some the best volunteers who bend over backwards to make our event a success. Without them there would be no way we could pull this off.
